UMTS NETWORK SIMULATOR OPNET PROJECTS

         UMTS Network Simulator OPNET Projects are render by our research institute in a Nobel goal to serve students and scholars with our innovative and ingenious project ideas. Our project guidance service includes complete code implementation, Thesis/report writing service, paper publication support [SCI, SCOPUS, and ISI] and conference support. We also start our service with novel conceptualization, i.e. our team of dynamic researchers refers at least 100+ journal papers to bring out a unique and also novel idea for your project accomplishment.

Being members of 500+ top journals, framing an innovative idea is not a tedious job for our research team. Your project success is also based on the fact that how much effort you have taken to frame your project idea. Once we frame a novel concept for your project implementation, we proceed with our other major supports. In short, we will take your project responsibility and accomplish it with your complete satisfaction. Aid us anytime with your project idea; we will transform your ideas into your research proposal.

OPNET-UMTS MODEL:

-UMTS Network is also created in Opnet using UMTS Model Suite. Opnet UMTS Model suite consist of:

  • Station Model[Used to model the raw traffic at specified bit rates]
  • Full Stack Model[Used to model the application traffic also which travels over the full IP stack via IP Network]
-Features of UMTS Model Suite:
  • Includes basic nodes like GSN[General packet radio service support node], RNC[Radio Network Controller], Node-B[Base station] and also MT[Mobile terminal] nodes
  • Mobile terminal is modeled with two types i.e. Simple or with TCP/IP
  • It includes various protocols in the UMTS standard protocol stack such as ATM, RSVP, MPLS, Diffserv also for IP QoS.
  • Provides complete implementation support also for RLC[Radio link controller] and GMM[GPRS Mobility and also session management]
  • RLC Modes support : AM, TrM, UM and also Admission control
  • Based on traffic class at MAC, priority handling of data flows
  • One QoS profile per traffic class of UE
  • Traffic classes[Conversational, interactive, streaming and also background]
  • Air interface is also based on WCDMA
  • Allows evaluation of power control algorithms as well as pathloss, interface and also shadow fading conditions
  • Support for Intra RNC hard and also Soft handovers
  • Supports-FDD[Frequency division duplexing] and also CDMA
  • Support also for CELL_DCH[DSCH/DCH]//CELL_FACH[FACH/RACH]-Logical and transport channels
SIMPLE SIMULATION EXAMPLE FOR UMTS-NETWORK:
  1. UMTS Network can be used in Opnet[14.5] and above versions
  2. Our simulation scenario consists of WLAN [as home agent] and UMTS [as foreign network]. We also have configured two access point namely home agent and foreign agent. In general, UMTS is communicated also with other packet data networks using GGSN. Also We have used a router attached to GGSN to create a communication link between UMTS and WLAN. We also have used Generic Routing encapsulation [GRE] protocol for tunneling of data packets between the networks.
  3. Next, we also have to configure the simulation parameters as below:
//Configuration of Home Agent

Agent type: Home agent

//IRDP parameters

Maximum Interval: 5

Minimum Interval: 3

Hold Time: 3* max interval

Lifetime Grant (seconds): 1800

Maximum numbers of hosts supported: 40

Preference level: 0

// Configuration of Foreign Agent

Interface name: IF41(192.0.2.7)

Agent type: Foreign agent

// IRDP parameters

Maximum Interval: 5

Minimum Interval: 3

Hold Time: 3* max interval

Lifetime Grant (seconds): 1800

Maximum numbers of hosts supported:40

Preference level: 0

// Configuration of Mobile Host

HA IP address: 192.0.3.2

// Registration Parameters

Interval (seconds): 4

Retry (times): 4

Lifetime request (seconds): 1800

4.Save it as UMTS.prj and also run the simulation. To analyze the performance of the overall network, also use the following parameters:

  • Traffic sent[packets/second]
  • Active set cell count
  • Packet also in end to end delay
  • Video traffic received[Packets/second]
  • Video-traffic sent[packets/second]
  • Jitter
  • Throughput
  • Also in Packet delivered Ratio
